Submission Guidelines
Authors intending to submit manuscripts to the FUDMA Journal of Accounting and Finance Research (FUJAFR) are required to adhere strictly to the following guidelines. Compliance ensures a smooth review process and enhances the quality and consistency of published articles.
1. Types of Manuscripts
FUJAFR accepts the following categories of submissions:
- Original Research Articles
- Review Articles
- Conceptual Papers
- Case Studies (where relevant to accounting and finance practice)
All submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
2. Language and Style
- Manuscripts must be written in clear, concise English (British or American spelling, used consistently).
- Authors should ensure grammatical accuracy and clarity of expression.
- Technical terms should be clearly defined where necessary.
3. Manuscript Structure
A typical manuscript should be arranged as follows:
- Title Page (submitted separately to ensure blind review):
- Title of the paper
- Full names of all authors example: Abdullahi Oluwaseun Okeke1, Emeka Adeyemi1*, Zainab Obinna Adetola2 and Chinedu Musa3
- Institutional affiliations
- Authors names as it should appear on How to Cite Section eg: Oluwaseun, A. O., Adeyemi, E., Obinna, Z. A. & Musa, C.
- Corresponding author’s details (Full name, full affiliation with postal address, state, country, email, phone number)
- ORCID of all authors (if available)
- Emails of all authors (necessary)
- Main Manuscript (Anonymous File):
- Title of the paper
- Abstract (150–250 words)
- Keywords (3–6 words)
- Introduction
- Literature Review (where applicable)
- Methodology
- Results and Discussion
- Conclusion and Recommendations
- References
- Appendices (if applicable)
4. Formatting Requirements
- Manuscripts should be prepared in Microsoft Word format (.docx)
- Font: Times New Roman, 12-point
- Line spacing: 1.5
- Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides
- Pages should be numbered consecutively
5. Referencing Style
FUJAFR adopts the APA (7th edition) referencing style.
- All in-text citations must correspond to the reference list.
- References should be arranged alphabetically.
- Authors are responsible for ensuring accuracy and completeness of citations.
6. Tables and Figures
- Tables and figures should be clearly labeled and numbered consecutively.
- Figures must be of high resolution and clear.
- Each table/figure must have a descriptive title.
- Sources must be properly acknowledged where applicable.
- Tables and Figures must be placed at their appropriate positions (not as separate files) in the main manuscript file.
- Each table and figure must be cited in the manuscript
- The caption for tables must be placed above while for figures it should be placed below
7. Ethical Considerations
Authors must:
- Ensure that the manuscript is free from plagiarism (or at least less than 20%).
- Properly acknowledge all sources of data and information.
- Avoid fabrication, falsification, and duplicate publication.
- Disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
Where applicable, ethical approval from relevant institutions must be stated.
8. Authorship Criteria
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to:
- The conception and design of the study
- Data collection, analysis, or interpretation
- Drafting or revising the manuscript critically
All authors must approve the final version before submission.
9. Submission Checklist
Before submission, authors should ensure that:
- The manuscript complies with all formatting requirements
- The manuscript file is anonymized for double-blind review
- The title page is uploaded separately
- All references are correctly formatted
- Ethical standards have been met
10. Review and Revision Process
- All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review.
- Authors may be required to revise their manuscripts based on reviewers’ comments.
- Revised manuscripts must be resubmitted within the specified timeframe, accompanied by a response to reviewers.
11. Copyright and Licensing
Authors will be required to agree to the journal’s copyright and licensing policy upon acceptance of their manuscript.
