Digital Preservation Policy
The FUDMA Journal of Accounting and Finance Research (FUJAFR) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, and usability of all published scholarly content.
1. PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)
FUJAFR utilizes the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) to ensure the permanent preservation of its digital content. This service provides free, distributed archiving for journals using the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.
The PKP PN ensures that journal content is:
- Securely archived in multiple geographically distributed locations
- Preserved for long-term access in the event of system failure
- Restored and made accessible if the journal website becomes unavailable
2. LOCKSS-Based Preservation
The PKP PN operates on the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) principle, which creates multiple copies of digital content across a distributed network of participating institutions. This guarantees redundancy and safeguards against data loss.
3. Institutional and Local Backup
In addition to PKP PN archiving, FUJAFR maintains:
- Regular local backups of all journal content
- Server-level redundancy and monitoring (where applicable)
These measures ensure an additional layer of protection and data recovery capability.
4. Persistent Identifiers
All published articles are assigned Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) through CrossRef. DOIs provide permanent and reliable links to published content, ensuring long-term accessibility and citation tracking.
5. Content Accessibility
In the event that FUJAFR ceases publication, all archived content will remain accessible through the PKP Preservation Network and other indexing platforms where the journal is listed.
